Are You Ready for FORS Bronze? Pre-Audit Checklist for Fleet Operators

Gaining FORS Bronze accreditation is a milestone for any fleet operator—it proves your commitment to safety, efficiency, and compliance. But failing the first audit is more common than you’d think, especially without preparation.

Here’s a quick checklist of areas you’ll need to get right before the auditor arrives:

1. Policies and Procedures
Are your Health & Safety and environmental policies up-to-date?
Do you have written procedures for driver training, incident reporting, and vehicle checks?

2. Vehicle Walkaround Checks
Are drivers trained to complete walkaround checks properly?
Do you have documented evidence of daily inspections?

3. Driver Management
Are licence checks up to date and logged?
Is your Driver CPC training current and supported by records?

4. Performance Monitoring
Are you monitoring fuel efficiency, idling time, and routing?
Do you have a plan to reduce CO₂ emissions?

5. Internal Safety Culture
Is there evidence of toolbox talks or safety briefings?
Have drivers been involved in safety improvement initiatives?
